A long time! Thrilled to return to NSMT after debut in A Little Night Music. Newmarket - hopefully i'll be able to afford a new frame if i crack the ti in a few years lol I spent the morning calculating gear ratios between my current 2x10 setup (as a reference) and 1x11 and rohloff to see where i need to be. Rkzhao - that reeb looks pretty damn nice but $4k complete bike steel frame means the ti is going to be crazy expensive lol If i went that route i would have to swap out a lot on their standard build kit or just grab their frame. The ti mukluk looks nice and Salsa's reputation is stellar as well. Regardless they are providing a nice hardware package for $1,500. It would be funny if bikedirect had ti frames. If i do 1x i will probably run a wolftooth 28 ring so hopefully it will clear.įat-tires-are-fun - The moots Frosti does look awesome.

Sk1er - thanks, so 60mm + 4.8 will work on a 1x setup. Rocky -I'd rather have a squishy fork, i could swap it out in the future if desired. Jeff Jones Spaceframe, steel with Ti truss fork - the was my #1 choice for awhile until i realized that i couldnt run a wide rear tire (only 29+ etc) (please correct me if i'm wrong) Surly ICT - Another #2 choice, good thing i didn't have to make a second choice.īorealis Echo - didnt want to spend $4,300 and then have to upgrade the rims, tires, brakes etc. fatboy Expert: Also my #2 choice, however it would need upgrades

Salsa Blackborrow: my #2 choice however it would need upgrades Some of the other bikes that I looked at: I have an all mountain full squish for fast trail riding. Does anyone know of any reason that I shouldnt get this bike or if there is another that I should look at before buying? This bike is for to be for bad weather conditions riding first (snow / mud) and singletrack riding second. Their customer service, when i asked a basic question yesterday, was promptly responded to and impressive. It meets or exceed my requirements & specs wishlist. The bike that I am planning on getting is the Carver Titanium O'beast Titanium O'Beast - Carver Bikes

So i'm ready to pull the trigger on a fattie, just received wife approval today.
